The NYS Forum 2017 Albany Annual Meeting

On Tuesday, October 17, The NYS Forum hosted its 31st Albany Annual Meeting, at the Hearst Media Center in Albany, NY. The Forum welcomed over 200 government and corporate partners to the event. New York State and New York City is going through an IT transformation, the details of which are of great interest to all of the attendees. With the many historic changes undergoing, Bob Samson, New York State''s Chief Information Officer and Anne Roest, New York City''s Chief Information Officer and Commissioner of the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DOITT), highlighted their accomplishments as well as where they will be taking us in the near future.

William Sanders, who was a former Chief of Staff for a Kansas Governor a CIO and Program Director presented the keynote address, "Cloud: Past, Present and Future: the Journey".

The event became interactive with audience participation. There was strong dialogue and great talking points that contributed to how valuable the event was. The event concluded with an active and dynamic Q & A session where Anne Roest and Matt Millea - NYS Office of Information Technology Services Chief Of Staff, provided answers and more information to any questions presented by the audience.

Finally, Work group co-chairs provided a report out of their past year accomplishments and what they are currently planning for the upcoming FY 2017-18 year.
