NYS Forum SharePoint Community of Practice
On February 23, 2016, The NYS Forum SharePoint Community of Practice group hosted an event to continue the knowledge share amongst NYS staff for the utilization of SharePoint by NYS agencies
Assisting NYS government to increase the efficiency of business processes; this event continued its focus on the education, adoption and successful integration of the statewide Enterprise platform.
This event featured experts in the SharePoint platform who addressed a number of subtopics all relating to their experience with its use. To a crowd (in person and on web) of roughly 150 attendees, Adam Neff, Enterprise Application & Development Manager, NYS Office of Information Technology Services and John Scaduto, Director of Enterprise Content Management, NYC DoITT presented demonstrations and use cases based on government usage of SharePoint.
The first to present was Adam Neff, Enterprise Application & Development Manager, NYS Office of Information Technology Services. His presentation included a Community of Practice Exercise for the New User and an update from the Enterprise Application Team.
Next to present was John Scaduto, Director of Enterprise Content Management, NYC DoITT. John''s discussion revolved around how NYC Agencies are Utilizing SharePoint. His presentation included use cases from NYC 311 and the NYC CIO Operations Council site.
Following the presentations, there was an active and dynamic Q&A/Open Discussion session where the audience joined in to discuss issues, experiences, and thoughts on the topic of discussion. The event was extremely constructive and turned into an invigorating and captivating exchange of information and ideas providing much food for thought and plans for actionThe presentation slide deck and webex recording may be viewed at:
