311 Mobile: Transitioning from Waterfall to Agile

On December 2nd, The NYC Project Management Work Group hosted an event entitled 311 Mobile: Transitioning from Waterfall to Agile. This session was led by DoITT Senior Project Manager, Alberto Ng. The senior Scrum Practitioner, Mr. Ng, spoke to a crowd of roughly 35. The audience was able to learn and broaden their understanding of the NYC 311 Mobile project and how DoITT transitioned from Waterfall to Agile. Mr. Ng shared not only the fundamentals of Agile Scrum, but challenges and accomplishments the project team faced.

The audience was able to interact throughout the discussion with questions regarding certain aspects on Agile and how Mr. Ng handled different complex situations; involving all team members of the project; addressing challenges in the project and how they continued to move forward; best practices he has identified and what has worked for him helping organizations adopt the Agile way. The event was exceedingly productive and turned into a fascinating exchange of information and ideas providing much food for thought and plans for action.

For those who attended via webinar and witnessed technical difficulties - We will be coordinating a repeat performance in the near future which will be broadcast via a webinar and recorded for later review on the NYS Forum Website.
Please stay tuned for the repeat event details.
