2015 Data Breach Investigations Report

The NYS Forum Information Security Workgroup hosted the event "2015 Data Breach Investigations Report". The October 22nd event featured the co-founder of the Verizon Business Investigative Response Unit and an active senior investigator, Christopher Novak

The Thursday Afternoon event attracted an audience (in person and on web) of roughly 80 attendees at the Radisson Hotel on Wolf Road. Chris did a fantastic job delivering a special presentation on the findings of the 2015 Data Breach Investigation as it dissects thousands of confirmed data breaches and security incidents from around the globe into emergent and shifting trends, providing us with insightful guidance to apply to our own security practices.

Chris led an engaging discussion about the key findings of the report including the victims, the trends of breaches, prevention, as well as a number of other informative items. The event concluded with an interesting Q & A session where Chris provided answers and additional insights to the audience.

The event was extremely constructive and turned into an invigorating and captivating exchange of information and ideas providing much food for thought and plans for action.

Christopher Novak, co-founder of the Verizon Business Investigative Response Unit and an active senior investigator, is an internationally recognized expert in the field of Investigative Response and Computer Forensics. He has been involved with information security for over 15 years. He has assisted corporations, government agencies, and attorneys with all matters involving IT security compliance, litigation support, computer forensics, fraud investigations, and computer security incident response matters.
