Key Concepts: Managing Technology Programs in Large, Complex Organizations
On April 9th, The NYS Forum Project Management Workgroup hosted an event spotlighting the management and running of large and complex technology programs
The Thursday afternoon event at the Holiday Inn went off successfully with an informative presentation by QED National's Managing Director, Anthony Concolino. Mr. Concolino led the forum with an interactive discussion bringing in real life examples within his own experiences of work. The audience was presented with an overview of Mr. Concolino?s views of program and project management as well as some of his experiences with large programs focusing on the key concepts that led to both success and failure. The presentation featured an account of IT Transformation case studies and a discussion addressing several key concepts such as:
- How do you know you need a Program
- Setting the Foundation, Team Building and Budgeting
- No Surprises
- Yes, there are Politics
- "That's how we do it"
The event concluded with an active and dynamic Q & A session and a chance for the audience to share and debate some of their own experiences to encourage conversation and dialogue.
