Large Turnout for Enterprise Operation
Hosted by The NYS Forum Service & Operations Management Workgroup and attended by an audience (in person and on web) of nearly 300 participants, the January 29th update from the New York State Office of Information Technology Services (NYS ITS) Enterprise Operations with a focus on End User Services was an outstanding success.
The Forum was honored to have Rose Harvey, Commissioner of NYS Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation speak on her experience with Agency management related to the IT Transformation. She also spoke on the Mission of the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, the current state of the NYS Park System, the goals and priorities, as well as future visions in regards to digital tools and functionality.
Pat Bennison and Gary Kuchark, gave updates on the Enterprise projects. This included Data Center Consolidation, O365, UniteNY, and End User Services Transformation. Upcoming projects such as Splunk, SCCM, and Change Management were previewed.
Steven Spalten Project Director End User Services Transformation, provided an excellent overview of the new Service Desk system being developed to improve overall customer support and reviewed the steps they will be implementing to increase productivity. The forum was also given an introduction of the newly named Managers for Geographic Regional Support. Short and long term upcoming changes for End User Transformation Services were outlined.
The final presentation featured Scott Johnson, Regional Information Technology Manager of NYS ITS Buffalo & Hornell Offices, who reviewed a case study on his experience with regional ITS Regional Transformation
The event concluded with an active and dynamic Q & A session where the entire panel of presenters joined in to provide answers and more information.
