The NYS Forum NYC Application Architecture and Innovation & Emerging Technologies Workgroup's are soliciting presentation submissions to be considered for the session topic of Microservices - Strategic & Functional Viewpoints

Session Description - Targeted Audience:

The goal of this session is to inform the audience on Microservices Architecture from the strategic and functional perspectives. The audience will be government technology staff at all levels; design, development, enterprise and management.

Presentation topics may include the following: These are only examples and we encourage you to think of other ideas that may be relevant.

  • Defining Microservices Architecture
  • Strategic Viewpoint
    • Microservices planning - what does the enterprise, business or application architect need to know?
  • Functional Viewpoint
    • What does the developer / programmer need to know?
  • Transforming monolith applications with Microservices
  • Challenges with Microservices Architecture
  • Microservices Successes - Use Cases

Presenters will be addressing a live audience, as well as remote attendees via WebEx.

All presentations must be vendor neutral. All presentations will be vetted by a group comprising members from The NYS Forum Work Groups hosting this event. Feedback and recommendations regarding final presentation material will be provided by this group.

PLEASE NOTE THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT AND SCHEDULE LISTED BELOW, WHEN CONSIDERING SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL:

Presentation Guidelines - Rules of Engagement

  • Presentation must be made using The NYS Forum's Power Point template.
  • Presentations must be vendor and product neutral.
  • Presenter corporate logo and contact information should appear on the first and last Power Point slides only. Corporate logo must not appear on each individual slide.
  • The presenter must discuss the topic at an expert level, and direct the presentation toward the specific targeted audience identified.
  • Our expectation is to schedule 3 presenters for this session. Each speaker will have 20-25 minutes for their presentation. The presenters will conclude the session with approximately 25 minutes of a Q&A panel on the topic.

  • 5/10/2017 - Call for presenters distributed to vendor community.
  • 5/26/2017 - Deadline for proposals from vendors.
  • 6/2/2017- Selection/notification of presenters
  • PLEASE NOTE: All PowerPoint presentations MUST be made on The NYS Forum PowerPoint template which will be provided by the workgroup member coordinating this event.
  • 6/9/2017 - Deadline for first draft of presenter Power Points and related documents
  • 6/21/2017 - Deadline for final presentation Power Points and related documents.
  • 6/28/2017 - Event Date.
