The NYS Forum NYC Project Management Workgroup is soliciting presentation submissions to be considered for the session topic of Project Management Office (PMO) Success

Session Description - Targeted Audience:

The goal of the "Project Management Office (PMO) Success" session is to provide guidance on establishing a PMO or enhancing an existing PMO.

The audience will consist of government Project Managers, Project Management Office Managers/Directors, Project Portfolio Managers/Directors and IT Management staff.

The session agenda is expected to include two or three SME presentations with a Q&A panel of the presenters to close out the session.

Presentation topics may include the following: These are only examples and we encourage you to think of other ideas that may be relevant.

  • What is the purpose of a Project Management Office (PMO)?
  • From an agency leadership perspective, what should be expected of a PMO?
  • Originating a PMO.
  • Guidelines for PMO Processes.
  • How to strengthen an existing PMO.

All presentations must be vendor neutral. All presentations will be vetted by a group comprising members from The NYS Forum Work Groups hosting this event. Feedback and recommendations regarding final presentation material will be provided by this group.


Presentation Guidelines - Rules of Engagement

  • Presentation must be made using The NYS Forum's Power Point template.
  • Presentations must be vendor and product neutral.
  • Presenter corporate logo and contact information should appear on the first and last Power Point slides only. Corporate logo must not appear on each individual slide.
  • The presenter must discuss the topic at an expert level, and direct the presentation toward the specific targeted audience identified.
  • The session is planned for 120 minutes with 20-25 minutes of content for each speaker and a 30 minute Q&A panel.


  • 4/18/2017 - Call for presenters distributed to vendor community.
  • 5/4/2017 - Deadline for proposals from vendors.
  • 5/12/2017- Selection/notification of presenters
  • PLEASE NOTE: All PowerPoint presentations MUST be made on The NYS Forum PowerPoint template which will be provided by the workgroup member coordinating this event.
  • 5/25/2017 - Deadline for first draft of presenter Power Points and related documents
  • 6/8/2017 - Deadline for final presentation Power Points and related documents.
