Overview of the Presentation

Chris Keating, NYS IT Project Manager, will lead a Project Spotlight session sharing his experiences with the ITS Data Center Consolidation Project.

"...No area of state government was more siloed than IT, but with this consolidation, we are eliminating inefficiencies and duplication with one of the most advanced and cost-effective data centers in the world. This data center is another example of how New York is leveraging technology to improve government operations and services for its citizens." -- Governor Cuomo, April 10, 2013

This effort is now a reality and the current Data Center Consolidation effort underway is one of the largest and most ambitious IT Transformation projects undertaken by New York State. Chris Keating, the NYS ITS Project Manager for Data Center Consolidation will describe the project, review current progress, and challenges and provide a view into the New York's state of the art data center spaces on the campus of the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute.

Although the format of the session will allow for impromptu questions from attendees, we encourage registrants to submit questions in advance by emailing The NYS Forum Project Management Workgroup Member, Mary Hayden-Cook at: mary.hayden-cook@ag.ny.gov

Attendee participation during the session will be strongly encouraged.
