Call for Presenters

The NYS Forum NYC Architecture Workgroup is soliciting presentation submissions to be considered for the session topic of Mobile Applications - Best Practices.

IMPORTANT: Please read the information below thoroughly for details regarding how to submit your presenter information, what to present, important dates and rules of engagement.

Session Description / Target Audience:

The objective of this session is to inform agency management and technology staff on mobile application development best practices. Agencies are faced with many decisions regarding success with mobile application development. These decisions may include which business and or outward facing functions are appropriate for mobile applications, how to determine if an application will be native, hybrid or responsive and how to develop mobile functionally for existing applications.

Presentation topics may include the following:

  • Mobile design decision factors from the business and technical perspectives
  • Testing mobile applications
  • Pros and Cons of emulators
  • Supporting and maintaining mobile applications

These are only examples and we encourage you to think of other ideas that may be relevant.

All presentations must be vendor neutral. Presentation content will be vetted by members of The NYS Forum Work Groups hosting this event. Feedback and recommendations regarding final presentation material will be provided by this group.


Presentation Guidelines - Rules of Engagement

  • Presentation must be made using The NYS Forum's Power Point template.
  • Presenter corporate logo and contact information should appear on the first and last Power Point slides only. Corporate logo must not appear on each individual slide.
  • The presenter must discuss the topic at an expert level, and direct the presentation toward the specific targeted audience identified.
  • 2 or 3 presenters are envisioned; 20-25 minute presentations each, with a discussion and Q&A period.


  • 3/9/2018 - Call for presenters distributed to vendor community.
  • 3/23/2018 - Deadline for proposals from vendors.
  • 3/30/2018- Selection/notification of presenters
  • 4/13/2018 - Deadline for first draft of presenter Power Points and related PLEASE NOTE: All PowerPoint presentations MUST be made on The NYS Forum PowerPoint template which will be provided by the workgroup member coordinating this event.
  • 4/20/2018 - Deadline for final presentation Power Points and related documents (1 week prior to event date). PLEASE NOTE: All Power Point presentations MUST be made on The NYS Forum Power Point template which will be provided by the workgroup member coordinating this event.
  • 4/26/2018 - Event Date

As presentations are selected, presenters and/or their contacts will be notified to discuss an appropriate date, time and place for the presentation. The full schedule, as it pertains to draft and final Power Point presentation due dates, will be determined and provided accordingly to the event date.
