The purpose of a NYS Forum Project Spotlight is to share lessons learned and best practices from ongoing or recently completed projects. This spotlight will feature the "NYWIC" project. New York State WIC (The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children) is embarking on a project to replace its existing statewide Management Information System (MIS) and benefit issuance tool with a new, automated web-based system, called "NYWIC", which will enable WIC participants to redeem food benefits using a eWIC card replacing the current paper check method.
