Effective, reliable and sustainable mobile applications are crucial for government to communicate with all New Yorkers with urgently important accuracy. The new Notify NYC mobile app allows subscribers to share their device's location with the City to receive highly localized information based on their present location. Notify NYC is the official source for information about emergency events and important City Services. The original system only allowed subscribers to receive messages based on pre-registered locations. The new Notify NYC mobile app allows subscribers to share their device's location with the City to receive highly localized information based on their present location. The app employs cloud-based push notification to provide NYC users with location-based notifications.
