Do you and your team face the challenge of producing effective customer solutions? Centering solution design on the needs of the human end-users results in successful government services.

Human-Centered Design (HCD) is an approach which can be applied to many kinds of problems. The HCD methodology is based on highly collaborative, visual and hands-on techniques. Utilizing the HCD methodology promotes successful solutions by developing a deep understanding of users' needs, challenges and behaviors.

In 2013, NYC DoITT received intensive training in Human-Centered Design to encourage comprehensive analysis, ideation, and decision making at the onset of a project. In this session you will have the opportunity to learn of Human-Centered Design based on the DoITT experience.

Presentation will include:

  • What is Human-Centered Design (HCD)?
  • How can the HCD methodology benefit your organization?
  • Hear of HCD examples within NYC government.

Presenter:

  • Dominic Berg, Associate Commissioner, Project Services - New York City Department of Information Technology & Telecommunications
